Our search for a home began on a whim. We saw a house that popped up on one of the many real estate sites and wanted to take a look ASAP. We filled out the form on the Redfin website and were contacted very quickly by an agent (not Ryan) offering to show us the home. I wrote back multiple times asking for straightforward answers to simple questions: what does me agreeing to a showing signify legally, am I under any obligation, is there a contract or legal engagement I'm entering into if you show us the home, etc. Frankly, I didn't really trust this agent's answers when he said there was no legal commitment, but what do I know, as someone who had little knowledge of real estate? I explained the situation to a trusted friend and he said, 'Before you get involved with an agent, you might want to meet mine first.' He had only good things to say about Ryan, so I reached out. I explained what had transpired and where we were at, including the experience with the other agent. One of the first things Ryan said is if a realtor shows you a home, they alone reserve the right to represent you if you wish to purchase. Immediately, I knew the other guy was up to no good because he disclosed nothing of the sort. Ryan said he was willing to show us the home, but he really thought it would be of greater benefit to sit down with us, explain the whole home buying process, and answer any questions we had first, so we weren't going into a showing blind, unaware of what would take place next if we wanted to place an offer. This all took place on a Friday and we wanted to see the house on Sunday. Ryan made room in his schedule so we could have the initial meeting first and then made arrangements to show us the house, too. During our initial meeting, Ryan was all about educating us everything from the market, to first time home buying, to financing, the offer forms and process, everything. He made it clear he wanted us to be informed and comfortable with the process. He didn't act like a sales guy, didn't make it seem like a quick sale was in anyone's best interest, and he certainly didn't want to rush the process. He just wanted to support us in whatever way was best for us. And he even insisted on buying our coffees! Needless to say, we walked away with a really clear understanding in mind: this was the realtor we wanted to use. He was friendly, helpful, and definitely someone we could trust. Ryan did show us that home and a few others within quick succession. He was patient and helpful throughout. Then, unfortunately circumstances changed so we had to put our search on hold. More than a year later, when we were able to return to our search, we went back to Ryan. Since it had been some time, he wanted to catch us up on what had changed, what the market was bearing, and understand if our preferences or needs had changed. We had another helpful meeting with him and then hit the road searching. If I'm not mistaken, we saw 26 homes within 2 weeks. Obviously, he made himself available to show us whichever homes we wanted to see over a broad geographical area. He always followed up asking if we wanted him to keep tabs on it for us, letting us know if offers had been placed, and the like. We felt like he was working for us all the time as he continued to inform us and keep us updated. We eventually found a house we wanted to place an offer on and he provided invaluable advice throughout this process as we shaped our terms and counters in store ahead. Fortunately for us, we didn't end up getting that home (nor did the people who had their offer accepted, mind you). Shortly thereafter, we exhausted the list of homes that met our criteria. Ryan showed them all to us. Soon, another home matched and we submitted an offer. He gave us advice on how to approach the whole process and was very detailed on outlining what would look best to the buyer but still give us the protection we needed should something go awry. The selling agent seemed to be rather difficult to deal with and there were multiple offers on the table, but Ryan represented us perfectly to ensure we had the best chance possible. And, we're so thankful he did because we got the house! All in all, our experience was wonderful. Ryan worked so hard and so long for us and we ultimately got the house we wanted, largely due to Ryan. Throughout the entire process, it was clear that our interests not his own were always first. As a result, we have, and will continue to recommend Ryan to anyone needing a realtor.

My experience with Ryan was excellent (5 stars). I was so frustrated with another agent from another company and not under contract with them after a month I told him I was done at around 8:45PM Friday night. I called and left Ryan a voicemail at 9 PM on a Friday night and he called back first thing Saturday morning. He was professional and very informative. He was back Sunday with the contract and took pictures and my home was up on the website on Monday. Any time I called him to ask questions he either answered the call or called me back within a reasonable time. It was quite an opposite experience from what I was dealing with. I would recommend Ryan to any of my friends who would be thinking of selling or buying a home.
